Lisa and I became roommates around the time she graduated from NYU. Shortly after, I met Joe Ebersole and he immediately welcomed me in and made me feel a part of the family. He thoughtfully picked out a jewelry box for me on one of his trips to China, gave me tennis advice on a family vacation to Rehoboth, and always regaled me with stories on Lisa’s birthday or her opening nights. I was endearingly hooked after one of our first dinners together when he ordered a truffle soup and was disappointed that it wasn’t chocolate. Every time I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with the Ebersoles I’ve been surrounded by lots of laughter and love. Joe Ebersole was so proud of his children’s accomplishments and his love for his family was evident in everything he did. Lisa, thank you for always sharing your family with me. Love you all very much. -Karina

My brother Joe loved his family and we loved him. Over the years he always kept in touch via visits, phone and e-mails.

Uncle Joe was very special to our two children. They loved visits from Uncle Joe - and when we visited him in D.C. he made sure we saw all the sights - he was an outstanding host.

The past few weeks our family have enjoyed sharing, via e mails, numerous memories.

He will truly be missed.

I will always remember Uncle Joe's enthusiasm in the way he approached life. Whether it was his describing his most recent trip to China, the book he just finished reading, or the latest movie he had seen, he always had a tone of excitement in his voice. I will never forget the graciousness and hospitality he provided me when I moved to Washington, D.C. I am so sorry I have to miss the memorial service, but please know how much Uncle Joe meant to me and how much I appreciated his kindness and infectious spirit. I hope that we can all get together soon. With much love, Matt

We regret we were unable to attend the Memorial Service; our health doesn't permit us to travel across country.

We were fortunate to spend a weekend with Joe when he had a speaking engagement in California in early May. At that time he was receiving doctor's care for his cancer, but was active and vibrant as usual.

It was with great sadeness that I learned of the passing of Joe during a conference in Spain. Over the past years I have worked closely with Joe on many of the challenges within the information industry. His passion, enthousiasm and professionalism was always inspiring and motivating. The way we worked together and shared together (although many 1000's of miles apart) is something I am going to miss dearly. Joe was a very dear friend.
